Covid -19 and Role of Cinchona officinalis (Cinchona Bark) Ayurvedic Herb and Homeopathic Drug China - A matter of Research

COVID-19 and Role of Cinchona officinalis (Cinchona Bark)
Ayurvedic Herb and Homeopathic Drug China  - A Matter of Research

Corona Virus Disease or COVID-19 - that is an RNA protein and covered by a protective layer of lipid and the shape is like a Crown (Spike). Since the MHFW ordered manufacturing of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ). Chloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine are having the structural formulae as
Structure of Chloroquine                    C18H32C1N3O8P2
Hydroxychloroquine(HCQ )              C18H26C1N30.H2SO4
            Structure of Quinine                          C20H24N202

 Cinchono Bark or Cinchona Chaal
Cinchona officinalis is a medicinal plant, and Cinchona officinalis is used for the production of Quinine, which is an anti-fever agent. It is especially useful in the prevention and treatment of Malaria. Other alkaloids that are extracted from this tree include Cinchonine, Cinchonidine , Quinidine and   the major substances among over thirty others (Mc Calley 2002).

Mechanism of Action
Quinine accumulates in the Lysosomes of the malarial parasites and interferes with essential processes ultimately leading to the death of the parasites. Quinine is effective in malaria caused by Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium malariae and Plasmodium ovale.

Quinine acts as a blood schizonticide although it also has gametocytocidal activity against P. vivax and P. malariae. Because it is a weak base, it is concentrated in the food vacuoles of P. falciparum. It is thought to act by inhibiting heme polymerase, thereby allowing accumulation of its cytotoxic substrate, heme. As a schizonticidal drug, it is less effective and more toxic than chloroquine. However, it has a special place in the management of severe falciparum malaria in areas with known resistance to chloroquine.
The theorized mechanism of action for quinine and related anti-malarial drugs is that these drugs are toxic to the malaria parasite. Specifically, the drugs interfere with the parasite's ability to break down and digest hemoglobin. Consequently, the parasite starves and/or builds up toxic levels of partially degraded hemoglobin in itself.
China officinalis was the first remedy proved by Dr Samuel Hahnemann. It is therefore a very important remedy in the history of homeopathy, and consequently it is one of the first that aspiring homeopaths study.
Can we use China in its different strength as a curative as well as prophylactic to coup with Covid-19, is a matter of clinical trials for Homeopaths.
On the other hand, concoction of Cinchona bark is used as a drug in the treatment of Malaria fever for several years by Ayurveda Physicians.
Since, Cinchona officinalis was used widely both by Ayurveda and Homeopathic system of medicines.  Cinchona Bark concoction (Syrup or Powder) or China Homeopathic drug be considered as Prophylactic and curative along with Allopathic line of treatment with the help of eminent researchers to cure this dreaded debase COVID -19.
Its high time to use alternative system of Medicines along with Allopathic line of treatment as holistic approach to cure this dreaded COVID-19.

Even a latest study on COVID19 has shown that Ramidiviris has good results in treating COVID19 patients.

 Ramidivir Molecular Formula                        C27H35N6O8P

 Chloroquine  Molecular Formula                   C18H32C1N3O8P2

The above formulae are very much similar except carbon. The chloroquine,  if used clinically by researchers  might have promising results in curing corona and cost effective as well .
